MERIDA LOCATION
Merida was founded by the spaniard Francisco de Montejo on January 6, 1542. When the spaniards arrived Merida was a large mayan city known as T´ho. Nowdays Yucatan is one of Mexico´s most tranquil, safe states. Because of this tranquility, Merida has become “the place” to emigrate to. Merida is a colonial city, but at the same time, a cosmopolitan one. It is located at the north of the Yucatan Peninsula only at 25 minutes by bus to the nearest beach with large amounts of fine white sand that binds with the Gulf of Mexico and a 10 minute ride to the nearest mayan ruins. Merida´s population has been increasing over the past years, we estimate that in 2009 the population will have reached 1 million inhabitants.



Viva Langugae School is located in Francisco de Montejo, in the northern section of the city of Merida, where you can find all kinds of services. The location of our school gives us easy access to public transportation with a variety of routes in the city of Merida. The Beach is located only 20 minutes by bus, Malls and Shopping centers 10 minutes by bus and Downtown 20 minutes by bus.
We are located very close to the Freeway which gives us easy and fast access to the Hospitals and to the Highways that lead towards all the Excursions of the region.
